For an old soldier like me, the most hopeful sign was the efforts of the next generation, a global movement of youngsters called “Stop talking and start planting”.

Call them naive fools like Sir Percy but they so well challenge the procrastinating politicians who do their best to resist taking action and making constructive agreements. In view of the fact that more than half the greenhouse gas we produce comes from the livestock industry (methane from waste and flatulence warms the world 20 times faster than carbon dioxide), I will put my knightly weight behind a campaign aimed at less wasteful use of land and energy by reducing animal agriculture and promoting vegetarianism.
Think of the effect such a campaign might have on reducing the volume of hot air at these conferences in favour of producing effective resolutions.
Call it “Stop farting and start acting”?
